Not enough hours in the day with JORD wood watch

**[Gifted-Ad]: This beautiful watch was gifted to me by Jord. I feel very lucky and one of the amazing things about being a blogger, is getting to discover brands you’ve never heard of before. So, as always, I wouldn’t write about it if I didn’t genuinely love the brand and think you guys might like it too!**

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll hear me talking a lot on my stories about time or lack thereof! As a working mum of two, I run my own businesses and therefore maternity leave this time round was non-existent. Instead, I was back to work with my 2-week old baby and he comes everywhere with me: to meetings, events and coffees. I wouldn’t have it any other way but I have never been so fixated on time as I am now, purely because, there just isn’t enough hours in the day!

Jord Wood Watch

A day in the life of me…

Being a “mumboss”, the juggle is real! I find I have to slip effortlessly from mum, to content creator, to CEO, to wife and back to mum again – sometimes all within the same hour!

An average week day for me looks like this:

  • Wake-up with baby boy after approx 5-6 hours of broken sleep at about 6am, shortly followed by the toddler. The hubby and I juggle morning routine/breakfast so we can take it in turns to shower and get dressed etc.
  • School drop-off of toddler and errand running.
  • Baby’s nap time and here I may get an hour or two max to check my emails, write a blog-post or film some video for my Youtube channel.
  • Baby wakes and snack time – followed by play.
  • Lunch time (I’ll try to cook something from scratch if baby is happy playing, if not, will grab on-the-go).
  • More play time with the baby before school pick-up.
  • The next 3 hours consist of keeping both kids entertained, preparing dinner and trying to get a bit of housework done.
  • Then it’s bath and bedtime routine.
  • At about 7.30pm – this is when I knuckle down and get a couple of hours of work done.
  • Bedtime and start it all again!

On a weekend, I generally keep them free for quality family time or I may be hosting a WeBlogUK event! So needless to say, I’m juggling a lot of things at any one time, which means it’s entirely essential that I keep track of time so I don’t lose any precious minutes throughout the day.

Like most people, I carry my phone everywhere with me, but I hate using it when I need to know the time and much prefer to wear a watch. It means I don’t get distracted by looking at my phone more than I need to and I love to accessorise my day’s outfit with my watches too (I have a few different ones, for different occasions).

My JORD wood watch (JORD is pronounced “yo-da” by the way), is the perfect watch for me because it’s classic, unisex (I tend to err towards the more “masculine” styled watch designs) and unique. Mine is sandalwood and olive with an ivory coloured face (there’s a number of different wood combos to choose from). It’s beautifully crafted, you can feel the quality and I’d never even considered that wood watches existed before and I think the design really stands out. In fact, I get complimented on it every time I wear it and for me, it’s a bonus to have something that’s “totes instagram-able”!.

I like it because it can be dressed-down on my “mummy days” where I’m rushing around on the school run, getting from A to B with the kids, or on weekend trips to the zoo. I can also wear my JORD wood watch for my “work days” when I’m heading for meetings in the city with brands and fellow content creators. I can also dress it up for cocktails with the girls or a date-night with the hubby, as the classic watch-face is timeless and chic.

The cool stuff you need to know

So being wood, the watch itself can be engraved and most watches have customisable elements (mix and match the face and woods). You have the strap sized to your wrist (great if you’ve got dinky wrists like me and always end up having to get your straps resized). Each watch comes with a 1 year guarantee and FREE WORLDWIDE SHIPPING! Woohoo!
