So if anyone is of the curvier disposition *cough* (has big boobs) *cough* then you may also greet Summer with a shaky anxiety over what exactly you’d like to wear on the beach or by the pool. Well I know I certainly do.
Now I’m in my late twenties, I’m even more weary of looking borderline porn-star on the beach with too much on show or over-spilling cup. And many of the styles of bikini available on the high-street just don’t account for the fuller bust. How blimmin’ frustrating.
Have you been stuck, looking at a bikini with sizes available in 8-12, with the top part being only a slither of material, barely able to cover a frozen pea? Or finally you find a cup size that looks like it’ll do the job but the bottoms are humongous? The top never matches the bottom! Grrr.
Well, as I’ve gotten a little curvier over the years, I’m constantly looking for the style that will accentuate my good-bits, but give me a helping-hand with the erm, not so good bits. I look for styles that cover the bust, but show just enough cleavage so that I don’t feel like a nun. There’s nothing worse than the dreadful double-boob (when your undersized bikini top digs into your cleavage, giving the appearance of 4 boobs), or the under-boob (where the material doesn’t give enough coverage and your boob slips out of the bottom). This is not a good look, no matter your size.
Someone who dresses perfectly for her shape on the beach is Kelly Brook. Her style (and body) is hugely inspirational for me!
Something flattering, accentuating and chic is the order of the day for this Summer! So I’m on a mission to find the perfect bikini for our trip to Italy in 3 weeks time. I’d like something with a hint of vintage 50s style about it.
So wish me luck and keep your eyes peeled for my holiday blogs next month, which will reveal and review the said chosen bikini.
In the meantime, do you have any advice? Have you found any flattering swimwear, designed for the bigger busted lady?
