For those days when you want to wake up and feel like the goddess you are… sounds cheesy I know, but when we feel good about ourselves, good things happen and when we emanate good vibes, we get them back. But how do we feel like a goddess? Is it really that simple? Here’s 5 ways to feel like a goddess…

5 ways to feel like a goddess:

Number 1

Eat well. It’s so important to nourish your body in the best way you can. Of course it’s impossible to be 100% healthy, 100% of the time. But give yourself a balanced diet, full of vitamins, minerals, proteins, carbs and good fats. Energise yourself with good food and as a rule of thumb, make your plates of food as colourful as they can be, to feel like a goddess. (I’m no dietician by the way, this is just good practice stuff!).

Meditate. Whether it’s meditation, mantras, a quiet lie-down or a long, relaxing bath. Take at least 15-20 minutes a day for yourself and your mind. Free yourself from the stresses of the day, close your eyes, follow your breath and enjoy some deep relaxation. Every goddess deserves some time to herself.

Number 3

Dance like no-one’s watching. It’s so important to just let go and “feel the music” as Patrick Swayze aka Johnny says in Dirty Dancing (the best film EVER!). Letting your body move in the way it wants to, is not only liberating, but releases endorphins (I think) and heck, even burns calories (I’m no scientist!). Putting on your favourite tunes and cutting a rug in the living room never fails to bring a smile to my face. Who doesn’t love channeling their inner Béyonce?

Number 4

Speak or see someone that loves you. Looking for ways to feel like a goddess? Then look no further than someone that loves you for you. Pick up the phone and speak to someone close to you, or even better, go meet them for brunch. Drink in their good energy, give them a hug and be energised by the love you have for each other. It’s the best thing ever. I’m always so energised by other people, but particularly those super close to me, that I can truly be myself around.

Wear your favourite piece of jewellery. Nothing makes you feel more like a goddess then when you feel good in your skin and what you’re wearing. For some, this might be getting dressed-up, for some it’ll be your favourite pair of tracky bottoms.   1. Light a candle – never fails to set the mood.
  2. Diffuse some scents – if you don’t have one already, buy yourself a diffuser and pop in something like Lavender oil or Eucalyptus.
  3. Sleep well – if you’re like me and your kids don’t sleep, you might not like me for this one. I don’t like me for this one. But there’s no denying, when you sleep well, you’re way more a goddess then when you don’t!
