My 2019 Shopping Hauls IGTV round-up

It occurred to me that some of you that read this blog, won’t necessarily follow me on instagram and even if you do, you may not capture my IGTVs. Over this last 6 months or so, as I feel like I’ve been getting into shape, finding my style and enjoying wearing clothes again, I’ve filmed some of my clothes try-ons and shopping hauls to share with you all – my 2019 Shopping Hauls IGTV.

2019 Shopping Hauls IGTV

Some of 2019 shopping hauls have been because I couldn’t decide what suited me, what I should keep and/or wear for a special occasion or holiday. Some have been about creating multiple seasonal looks and some have been about enjoying shopping at local independent stores here in South Manchester.

Either way, training and losing weight this year, has given me the confidence to do something that I would never have done 18 months ago…catwalk my try-ons and film them for you guys. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a lot easier doing it in the comfort of my own bedroom, with no audience…I’m not gonna be jostling Cara Delavigne for top spot at next year’s London Fashion week or anything like that – but I do enjoy creating these little IGTVs and people seem to enjoy watching them. So I’ll be posting more in 2020  and I hope you’ll tune in.

But for now, here’s my 2019 shopping hauls IGTV round-up:

My first shopping-haul was from Zara, as I was excited to dress-up for our anniversary trip to Amsterdam and had no idea what would look good on me since having my 2nd baby. I needed your help…(I think I ended up keeping them all)…

**HELP ME CHOOSE!** • So I’m far from a fashion blogger/influencer but I love watching these clothes hauls/try-ons & since I’m in major need of help packing for this weekend’s trip to Amsterdam, I thought I’d try one of my own…here goes!… – Outfits in order are: – 1️⃣ Zara: size XL, £39.99 – white layered dress. Long midi length. Feels very floaty, good weight to it. Just think I could’ve sized down!? – 2️⃣ Zara: size L, £39.99 – nude pink lace layered dress. Long midi length. This is so comfy & think it could be nice in the hot weather but not sure if it’s too big again? But if smaller might look entirely different!? – 3️⃣ Zara: size L, £9.99 (bargain!!) – coral red colour crinkled dress. Midi length. I love the ruffle & that you can push the neckline off shoulder. It is revealing in the side boob area but think this could work with a pretty bra? Sexy enough for Amsterdam? – 4️⃣ Zara: size L, £17.99 (another bargain!) – black dress, although nothing mind-blowing this is super comfy & I love the ruffled neckline. Midi length. Flattering & flowy (I feel like I could enjoy a good meal in this dress!). Good daytime walking dress? – 5️⃣ Zara: size L, £25.99 – coral orange midi dress. This one fits me the best I think, hugs in the right places but still forgiving around the middle (gonna be eating this weekend!). I think this is a keeper & I love the summery colour. – 6️⃣ New Look: size 14, £25.99 – burnt orange linen midi dress with square neck line. I love that this has pockets! I also like the square neck & think it’s a really good daytime dress. Great price for linen too! • • • So that’s it. I can’t keep them all! Which are your top 2 faves? Comment please!!

My second haul was from Primark. I hadn’t been for yonks and when I popped-in, found lots of items that were surprisingly fab and incredibly well priced! Over 7000 people have watched this one, so clearly a popular topic…

So it’s been a long time since I’ve been in @primark but I made the most of the sleeping baby & spare time in town yesterday. I’m a bit lost on sizing at the moment & didn’t have time/energy to try on in store, so here’s what I came out with: 1. Linen blend Hawaiian style jumpsuit. Size 14. £20 2. Cotton/linen style halter-neck jumpsuit. Size 20 (it was that or a size 8 so I took the risk that it might be undersized). £15 3. White/cream gypsy maxi dress. Size 14. £15 4. The trousers. Tencel paper bag trousers. Size 14. £13 (my fave of the bunch!) 5. The top No1. Random checkout sale grab. Blush pink linen-style boho cropped top. Size 14. £3!! 6. The top No2. Another random checkout grab. Blush pink linen-style button top. Size 16. £5 7. White flatform (also available in black) trainers. £8 I think I know which I like and which I’m unsure about. ? ! __________________________________________ #hollygoeslightly #weblognorth #igtv #igtvvideos #igtvcreator #igtvfashion #mumdresscode #styleover30 #dresslikeamum #reallifeandstyle #styledarlingdaily #fashionable30s #finditstyleit #bloggersuk #todayiamwearing #realoutfitgram #creativegalgang #reallifeandstyle #yoursizeyourstyle #ootdinspiration #momentsofchic #anotheroutfitpost #whatmamawore #over30fashion #fashionhaul

My next try-on wasn’t new clothes I’d just bought, but instead I was having a clear-out of items I’d not worn since pre-pregnancy days and hadn’t chucked-out. It was a big moment for me, sorting and defining my new style and being brave enough to realise what just wasn’t my “look” anymore…

**HOLLY GOES…SORTING** If you’ve not read my post on rediscovering my style in my 30s (& after kids), have a read here – https://www.hollygoeslightly.co.uk/lifestyle/rediscovering-my-style It’ll put it all into context! I used to be a hoarder of clothes & shopping was my therapy for my body insecurities. This has led to an overflowing wardrobe, mostly full of things that don’t fit me or suit my body shape & lots of things that are over 2 years old that I’ve not worn! So in an effort to cleanse my wardrobe, here’s 13 outfits/items that I need you to help me decide which to keep! It’s so much easier with someone else’s help! Outfit details: 1. I wore this dress in NYC when I got engaged so although I’m a few inches off fitting it, it’s a keeper! 2. Quiz dress bought post baby no2. Cant decide if the shape is right for me/my boobs? 3. Zara top from 2 seasons ago. Worth it to throw on at the beach? 4. Top. See through so need a better bra! Or a vest underneath. 5. Palazzo pants – used to love these but not sure they do anything for me now? 6. Dress from TK Maxx. Wore it to a wedding 6 years ago! Perhaps time to go!? 7. Another TK Maxx dress still with tags on. Didn’t think I’d like it but I LOVE the colour. I just don’t wear anything this short anymore! 8. Classic @boden_clothing wrap dress! Love this style & think I’ll wear it loads. 9. @ukgap jumpsuit. Bought last year to breastfeed in as it’s a wrap top. Not sure if it’s too baggy now? 10. Very old dress I’ve not worn for years as it’s so short! I love the style but not sure I can pull it off!? 11. I bought this gorgeous orange @reiss dress years ago & I’ve never worn. Don’t know why!? 12. These @hm flared jeans are something ridiculous like a UK size 18! I’ve only just been able to fit into them. Are flares back? 13. Finally, I love this dress from @tiffanyrosematernity & wore it for my 1st baby shower just over 4 years ago. Very Audrey Hepburn and still fits now. Classic black dress a keeper? HELP!

I had so much fun working on my Matalan Winter looks haul. This was the first time I had concertedly picked a number of items and pieced them together into “looks” to be worn day to night. This is real progress for me when it comes to shopping as it makes for a much more coherent wardrobe. I genuinely love every piece in this styled IGTV and wear them all often…

My final of the 2019 shopping hauls IGTV is one that’s close to my heart. I have loved shopping in my local store Love Lucy Boutique for years now, but particularly found my groove (and a friend in shop owner, Lucy) this year. Lucy has helped me rediscover my personal style, experiment with more fashion-led pieces and really dress to suit my shape. This is the beauty of shopping independently and in-store, as you get that personal experience and I will continue to buy from her and enjoy wearing all my Love Lucy goodies…
