An Ode to Pasta

If you’ve read my blog, particularly my food and travel posts, you’ll know that I LOVE pasta! It is genuinely my favourite food in the world and I could happily eat it every day (and nearly do!).

I also a little bit love Jamie Oliver (just a little bit) and Jamie’s Italian is one of my go-to places for seriously good fresh pasta. The pasta is always made fresh on site and there’s an interesting variety, including some you definitely don’t see on your average supermarket shelf. You can check out my review of Jamie’s in Manchester for more thoughts on that.

So on the subject of pasta, look at this awesome infographic they’ve created, describing different types of pasta, their shape and their origins. I almost want to print this, frame it and pop it on my kitchen wall. In fact, I might!

So much pasta-y goodness. I can’t even decide which would be my favourite, but I’m leaning towards Gigli and of course you can’t go wrong with good old Penne…oh and Gnocchi. Ok so that’s 3 favourites.

If you too love pasta and haven’t yet tried one of Jamie’s Italian restaurants, then definitely check them out as I’m sure you wouldn’t be disappointed. And make it a mission to try a pasta that you’ve never had before…that’s what I do each time I go.

What’s your favourite pasta type and dish?
