Marina di Pisa

It’s taken my a little while to get this post up (sorry) and it already seems life a lifetime ago that we were at Marina di Pisa. It was actually back in July.

As you’ll know, we are getting to know Tuscany very well by now. Our family live approximately thirty minutes in the car from Pisa Airport and we do the drive regularly when we’re there, picking up guests and dropping visitors off. Yet somehow, despite doing the drive so often, we somehow didn’t quite pick-up on a beautiful seaside town and resort, sign-posted, called Marina di Pisa. Continue reading

Skiing in Flaine – Part 3

Continuing in my Skiing in Flaine series, I’m now onto the good stuff…the food!

I spent a lot of time eating while I was away, as to be honest, it was just too tempting not to. The weather was stunning – sunny and warm, so we spent every lunch time sitting outside enjoying lunch.

Each day, the rest of the gang would get up early to get a few runs in before lunch. We’ve discovered many wine producers of varying sizes over the years but of course are always keen to discover more. This trip we went along to the Fattoria Fibbiano, where the wonderful Dalila and Giuseppe were happy to greet us and show us round their site. We had a wonderful personalised tour of where their wine is produced, how it’s made and the different processes involved and it all culminated with 45 minutes of wine tasting. Yup, 45 minutes to sample some of the best wines Tuscany has to offer. Lucky us!Continue reading
