Antica Osteria – Lucca, Tuscany

On our recent trip to Tuscany, we headed back to where is quickly becoming one of our favourite places to spend time – Lucca. It was a gloriously sunny day and we were hungry…

After wondering through the town and enjoying perusing the windows of the stunning shops, we stumbled across a little courtyard filled with perfectly set tables and fairy-lights in the trees. A promising start for an al fresco dining experience. We quickly had a glance at the menu and all agreed this would be our spot for a special lunch. Where to eat in Lari, Tuscany

On our last trip to Italy, we discovered the beautiful little town of Lari, Tuscany. It is a hill-top town, reached by windy roads (most entertainingly traveled to by Vespa).

Lari is home to the makers of Martelli Pasta – arguably the yummiest pasta out there! And you know I love my pasta. I will be sure to dedicate a whole post to the beauty of this pasta soon.

We head to Lari out of season in October, one Sunday, for lunch. We’d never been to eat there before so wasn’t quite sure what was on offer. We stumbled into the first restaurant in town, which unfortunately was full of Italian families enjoying their Sunday lunches (note to self: phone ahead next time!), so we carried on walking and pledged to come back and try that place another time.Continue reading

Bagni d’Arienzo Positano

One of the most special parts of our holiday to the Amalfi Coast was our day spent at the private beach club, Bagni d’Arienzo Positano. It was one of the “must-dos” of the holiday, as I wanted us to do something truly luxurious and special on our anniversary trip. You’d think something like a private beach club, only reachable by boat, would be reserved for the rich and famous and totally expensive…but it wasn’t!
